Wulf Hund
Historical testimony: Panel of the “Wulf Hund“, B-17F-27-BO of the US air Force 360th Bombing squadron, 303rd Bombardment group “Hell’s Angels”, missing in action December 12, 1942. This US Air Force heavy bomber force landed in a hay field in Melun, France. Taken intact and transported by the Germans to the Netherlands, it was repaired and then flown back to Germany. First of the 40 captured or forced-down B-17Fs, Wulf Hund was used by the Luftwaffe as an evaluation aircraft and, as a demonstration target for German fighter pilots. This machine was then passed to Kampfgeschwader KXG 200 for clandestine operations (Long-range reconnaissance, resupply behind enemy lines and transporting agents or important personnel). Its codename was Dornier Do 200. The original US Air Force olive drab colour was kept, but the grey was replaced by a yellow colour. Note that the original yellow identification markings still remains.
